1. International Curriculum
The curriculum at KICS is international and has a Christian foundation, using materials from both Christian and secular publishers.
Kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 2 use the A beka series and we focus on developing basic scholastic skills. From Grade 3 onwards, various textbooks and teaching methods are used to develop creativity, problem solving and critical thinking.
Bible, Language, Reading, Spelling, Writing, Arithmetic, Science, Music, Art, Sports, Foreign language, as well as other classes, are conducted in English. Students should speak English at all times, both inside and outside the class during the school hour, inorder to develop mastery of the English language.
2. Indonesian Curriculum
As a National Plus school, we teach the Indonesian curriculum required by the government, such as PKN, IPS, Bahasa, PKLH IPA, and Matematika, so that the students are equipped to take the national examination at the end of each school level.
3. Spiritual Curriculum
The daily Bible class includes time for praise and worship, prayer, Bible verse memorization, and Bible stories, and students are encouraged to implement the lessons learnt in their daily lives. The weekly Chapel time and annual camp also encourage the children to become Christ-like in their lives. And students or parents may attend Sunday worship in bahasa Indonesia at school hall.
4. Teaching Method
To help students learn better and to provide other means of assessment in addition to tests and quizzes, our teachers provide a variety of activities, projects and papers as appropriate to the subject matter and the students' age.
The teachers use various methods to teach children in effective and interesting ways such as individual work, pair work, group work, games, discussion, competition, and presentation.
KICS is a Christian School. So an applicant should consider the following points.
1. Enrollment in the school constitutes an agreement by the parents and the student to participate in Christian teaching and activities.
2.All students must actively participate in Bible classes, chapel, and other religious activities of the school.
