Our School

Ichthus Schools consist of Sekolah Ichthus Jakarta (West) and Ichthus International School (South) are Christian School. Ichthus Schools, under the aegis of PT Bina Putera Raya, opened its branch in West Jakarta in 2001. The second branch in the South opened its doors in 2002. The school caters to children of 6 years and above.

The educators in the school endeavour to educate children who will become adults in the world of tomorrow. It is our belief that a well-educated adult:

Our Name and Symbol

What is in the name? The name chosen for the school is a word received from God experienced by our Director. Ichthus means “fish” in Greek and the acronym are:

CH	(Greek χ - Xhi)	stands for ‘Christos’ – Christ
TH	(Greek θ)	stands for ‘Theon’ – God
U	(Greek υ - Upsilon)	stands for ‘Uios’ – Son
S	(Greek Σ - Sigma)	stands for ‘Soter’ – Savior

The Colours of Our Symbol

The colours in the symbol:
Purple, Blue, Linen and Scarlet Red point to four sides of God’s nature:

BLUE	Jesus as son of God which denotes holiness, grace and truth
	(as seen in the Gospel of John)
PURPLE	Jesus as King which denotes servant leadership and wisdom
	(as seen in the Gospel of Matthew)
FINE LINEN	Jesus as perfect man which denotes relationship, community and environment
	(as seen in gospel of Luke)
SCARLET RED	Jesus as suffering servant which denotes sacrifice an unconditional love
	(as seen in the gospel of Mark)
