Mission & Vision Statement
Philosophy
BAIS operates as a private non-profit school to serve the international community. BAIS provides quality education in the traditions of classic, conservative ethics and values. The school ministers to the whole person; therefore, its program is directed toward individual development and enrichment in the following areas: intellectual, physical, moral, spiritual, and social. The program incorporates citizenship training, character development, personal values, and ethics.
Emphasis is placed on instilling respect for citizens of all nations and specifically the country of Indonesia, our host nation.
The school strives to:
- Develop in each student a mastery of the skills of communication and learning.
- Teach that the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God, thus developing attitudes of love, respect, and obedience towards it.
- Develop responsible individuals who possess the ability to think clearly, logically, and independently as participating members of a self-govern society.
- Develop in each student an understanding and appreciation of cultural, social, scientific, economic, and political ideas and practices.
- Provide opportunities for citizenship training and character development for effective participation in the family and society.
- Include those experiences and activities for each pupil, which will lead to the enrichment of their own life, through academic, physical, social, and spiritual development.
- Provide physical and health education enabling the students to live an energetic, wholesome and productive life.
- Provide opportunity for each student to develop and to appreciate ethical and cultural values, with particular emphasis on the language and culture of Indonesia as our host country.
- Provide a program of student activities designed to develop competent, self-directed, and responsible social interaction in an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation.
- Develop in each student interests, skills and attitudes that contribute to the worthy use of leisure time.

Elementary Academics
The elementary curricular program is designed to help students develop a strong foundation in Language Arts as well as an understanding in Science, Social Studies, Math, and Biblical Studies.
Students learn to express themselves critically, to be attentive listeners, to understand worldviews, and to apply life skills to learning all of which is within an environment marked by high expectations. Elementary students also have specialist classes in music, art, computer, library and physical education. Indonesian language and culture is also taught at different levels to meet the needs of each child.
In addition to daily studies, the elementary school also provides a variety of special activities for students throughout the year. They have opportunities to perform in concerts and presentations, to participate in Art and science fairs as well as Storybook Days, Math Olympics, and Student-led Conferences. Parents are encouraged to view and participate in these creative displays and experiments, as well as visit classrooms at pre-arranged times.

Secondary Academics
The Middle School aims to produce confident and competent learners who are able to communicate effectively. When unsure of the answer to a question, students learn how to independently research for an answer. Students are taught to be creative problem solvers. Middle school pupils are at times encouraged to work as members of a group or a team, sharing responsibility, success, and failure.
The High School consists of the final four years of pre-university schooling. BAIS offers a modified American curriculum. Normally, eight subjects are taken each year, including a sequential progression of courses in English, mathematics, science, and social studies. Students are required to take major examinations at the end of each semester.
Advanced courses are offered in selected areas in order to prepare students for Advanced Placement (AP) exams.

Please Be Advised:
- Tuition and fees are increasing 7% for the 2013-2014 school year. Remember that if you pay your full year’s tuition and fees by July 31st, 2013, you will receive a 5% “early bird” discount off your tuition for the upcoming school year (fees are not discounted).
- Students brand new to BAIS pay a one-time only “new-student registration fee” of $200.
- The capital fee is a non-refundable yearly payment which pays for our campus development. This number has been adequately adjusted to reflect our debt repayment schedule and future building plans.
- The technology fee has been adjusted to adequately reflect the continual upgrade in technology at BAIS, per our accreditation report and five year strategic plan.
- All yearly fees are included in the first payment for tuition and are due before the first day of attendance at BAIS.
- For students registering after school begins, the registration fee is upon acceptance and the balance of the tuition and fee payments must be completed before the first day of attendance at BAIS.
- 12th grade students must pay a $150 graduation fee.
- Students who require supplementary LEP English language instruction will be assessed an additional yearly fee of $750. Students who enroll in our Immersion program will be assessed an additional yearly fee of $1000.
- The Chief Financial Officer is available to answer your questions on the BAIS tuition, fees and payment options.
Tuition payment options are available as follows:
- For US$ cash payments, please pay directly to the BAIS Finance Office during office hours. BAIS accepts 2006 US$ printed version and H series only.
- For bank transfers please pay directly to the BAIS bank account with full detailed information regarding the student’s name and grade in the information section of the bank form. Delinquent Tuition Payment Penalties
Parents may choose tuition payments of one year (remember the “early bird” discount), or by semester (without penalties). Tuition and fees must be received at the destination mentioned above before or on the due date. A late fee of US$ 50 or 2% per month (whichever is greater) will thereafter be applied to any outstanding account balances. Parents are responsible for transfer delays and/or transfer costs. Accounts more than 30 days delinquent without prior notification and approval may result in suspension of the student from school until suitable arrangements have been made to bring the account current. It is the responsibility of the parents to make arrangements with the Chief Financial Officer when bills are not paid.
