From its beginning in 1996, AIS has been dedicated to the vision of providing world-class education in Indonesia based on the Australian education system. We are well known throughout the region for being an inclusive school where every child, regardless of nationality, race, religion, language or learning ability, is valued and encouraged to achieve their fullest potential.
At AIS, we strive for the development of the whole person. Academic success is balanced by the school’s emphasis on personal growth and development. Our students are challenged and encouraged to discover their individual interests and abilities. AIS teachers are committed to developing well-rounded individuals who are confident and creative problem solvers.
The AIS community is based on an extended family of teachers, students, parents and alumni students. Together we celebrate and promote the universal human values that connect us all. With over 700 students on four campuses, AIS offers a world of learning opportunities and exciting experiences for toddlers in Preschool right through to young adults laying the foundations for future careers.
To find out more about the exciting life and opportunities at AIS, we invite you to explore our website, meet our Principal, Bruce Ferres, learn about our three schools, how to enroll, read the latest news and see for yourself why our school enjoys an enviable reputation for inclusive international education.
Our key philosophy at AIS is to develop and demonstrate best practice education, and to make a world-class Australian education available and accessible to all children in Indonesia.
Regardless of ability, culture, ethnicity, gender or language background, all AIS students are encouraged and helped to achieve their full social and educational potential.
To achieve this, we are committed to providing a challenging, enriching and supportive learning environment, which develops confident and articulate students who have the skills, knowledge, values and attitudes needed to shape their future and contribute meaningfully to the international community.
At AIS, we strive for the development of the whole person. Academic success is balanced by the school’s emphasis on personal growth and development. Our students are challenged and encouraged to discover their individual interests and abilities. Our teachers are committed to developing well-rounded individuals who are confident, creative and have the ability to communicate their feelings and aspirations.
Our slogan “Empowering Minds. Uniting Communities” emphasizes our goal of taking a leadership position in Indonesia in empowering young minds and bridging communities.
Australia’s interactive teaching approach encourages student participation and develops confidence and effective communications skills. These skills are highly valued by international tertiary institutions, where great importance is placed on developing the ability to think creatively and independently, read widely and critically, participate in debate and function in teams.
At AIS, the curriculum is currently based on the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS) framework. From the beginning of 2012 the new Australian Curriculum will be gradually introduced commencing with English, Mathematics and Science. Our Year 11 and 12 courses are accredited by the ACT Board of Senior Secondary Studies (BSSS).
The curriculum at AIS has been designed to provide educational opportunities that will help every student to reach his or her potential. The key to success is providing the right learning environment staffed by caring teachers who love to teach and nurture each student’s special talents.
All students are given the opportunity to reach their full potential and to work at their own level in each subject area. The syllabus is adapted and structured to allow our students to build on their knowledge and experiences.
